RBI board discusses economic situation but silent on mortgage restructuring

MUMBAI: The central board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) talked about the recent economic circumstance and the evolving challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic in its 583rd assembly on Friday.
In a launch on its site, the RBI claimed that the board also talked about the central bank’s things to do all through July 2019 to June 2020 financial calendar year and its the spending budget for the future accounting year commencing July 2020 which will conclude in March 2021 to be aligned with the government’s money calendar year.
The RBI launch was silent on regardless of whether banks’ demand for just one time restructuring of loans was discussed at all.
Anticipations that the restructuring of loans will be discussed at the RBI board meet rose soon after finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the governing administration is speaking to RBI to lets financial institutions for a 1 time restructuring of financial loans owing to the distress caused by the Covid 19 pandemic.
